Lessons are at the core of the learning experiences educators create on Mindjoy, and now they have a home of their own.

Until now, lessons lived inside pathways — great for structured sequences, but as educators' needs grew, so did the demand for more flexibility in how lessons are created, organised, and shared.

Lessons are now independent building blocks that can stand on their own or be combined into pathways:

• Reuse across pathways: add the same lesson to multiple pathways without duplicating content
• Draft without exposing: work on lessons at your own pace; students only see them when you assign or add them to a pathway
• Assign directly to classrooms: send a single lesson to a classroom with its own start and due dates, no pathway required
• Browse everything in one place: a new Lessons library lets you search, organise, and manage all your lessons regardless of which pathways they belong to
• Share with collaborators: share lessons using the same model you already know from pathways

Mindjoy now connects directly to your Learning Management System. With our new LTI 1.3 integration, educators and students can access Mindjoy without ever leaving Canvas, Moodle, Blackboard, or any LTI 1.3-compliant platform.

• Single sign-on from your LMS: students and teachers sign in through their existing LMS accounts — no separate passwords, no extra setup

Allow students to join your workspace by simply signing in with their school-issued Google or Microsoft account. Notifications Inbox 📥

Students and educators now receive in-app notifications to stay updated on platform activity. For example, students will be notified when a pathway is assigned to one of their classrooms. You can now create a tutor simply by describing the type of tutor you want! Provide your description and desired teaching style, upload a knowledge base (optionally), and our system will handle the prompt creation and setup. This update makes it easier to set up tutors for your different needs.

Custom instructions in Lesson generation 📝

Lesson generation now supports custom instructions. When creating lessons, you can specify additional guidance to help steer the generated content in the direction you want. Reimagine how your students learn by creating engaging and interactive lessons with custom instructions that are outside of the box!

Give it a go:

• Generate an assessment on the uploaded content, where every question is set in the context of basketball (e.g., using basketball scenarios or terminology)
• Generate a lesson that aims to teach the fundamental components of the content by using real-world examples to help make it concrete
• Generate 10 practice questions based on the sample question types from section 1.1 of the uploaded content

We've made it easier to remark student submissions. Made a mistake on your original mark scheme, but don't want to update submissions one-by-one? Now you can simply update the question and apply bulk remarking to your classroom instantly.

Newly created pathways will now have a cover image generated automatically using AI. You can always upload your own image or regenerate the image at any time.

Improved workflow for adding students 📝

We've made it easier to add students to your classrooms. Choose between inviting students via email (now including support for CSV files), importing from Google Classroom or Microsoft Teams, or use a join code. We've also added the ability to see which students have already been invited to your classrooms, and also a handy search bar to find students by name or email.

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) 🔒

We've added a fun new feature that allows educators to generate great looking images for their tutors! Simply prompt your tutor like you normally would and we'll generate you an image based on your prompt. You can always regenerate the image to get a different one, or upload your own image.

For new educators signing up, we'll now suggest relevant organizations that you can request to join. We've made a large improvement behind the scenes to the knowledge base feature. Tutors with the knowledge base enabled will now have better recall and retrieval of information uploaded to the knowledge base.

Automarking Improvements

Improved Automarking stability. When questions fail to automark, the issues are now surfaced on the frontend, allowing teachers to manually mark them. We've also added student progress tracking, showing where they are within automarked assignments.

PDF Document Uploads in Automarking 📄

Support PDF document uploads in automarked responses in Pathways, enabling educators to accept documents in free response questions alongside images and text.

Pathway start and due dates ⏰

Educators can now set start and due dates for pathways. This creates a submission window during which students can submit their work.

Export Pathway marks as a CSV file 📄

Courses is now Pathways 💡

Learning isn't just about completing a set of lessons, it's about making meaningful progress, finding flow, and mastering concepts in a way that feels natural. The word Courses suggests something linear and rigid, but real learning is dynamic, iterative, and personal. Pathways better reflects this kind of learning journey. Pathways are designed to guide students, not just through content, but toward deeper understanding and self-direction. Pathways (even less traveled ones) allow for exploration, time for detours and rabbit holes, direction for those who want to pick up the pace and new building blocks to build new kinds of learning maps that make learning more engaging. In the future, we're looking forward to making them collaborative. For now though, with Mindjoy's AI-first pathways, educators and students gain more flexibility, support, and insights to make meaningful learning progress. It's more than just a name change: it's a shift in how we think about learning. We can't wait to see the amazing learning pathways you'll create.

Archive classrooms 🧑‍🏫

Educators can archive classrooms to help organize their data. Archiving a classroom will remove it from the active list of classrooms, and will automatically close any open tutor sessions or assigned courses.

Organization join code/link 🔗

In addition to invititions sent via email, educators can now share a join link with their colleagues to join an existing organization. This includes an option to regenerate the link if needed.

Preview Auto marking for Free Response Questions 🤖

Educators can now test their mark scheme with the auto-marking feature, see what kind of feedback students will be getting, and tweak the mark scheme as needed.

Classroom navigation changes 🧑‍🎓

Student activity (submissions, chats, insights etc.) now live within classrooms. There have also been a number of smaller tweaks as a part of this change including empty state screens, improvements to tutor sharing and generally better navigation within the app.

Educator email invitation UX 📧

Improved UX (inspired by Google Classroom) that handles more email formats and clearly displays errors.

• Show emails as chips once added
• Add new emails while typing
• Handle emails separated with commas, semi-colons and spaces (or a mix!)
• Clearly indicate which emails have an error associated and make it easy to remove them with a click

Drag-n-drop images in the editor

You can now drag-n-drop images when editing course content. We've also made some other minor improvements, such as the location of toolbar, height fixes, added a loading spinner and more.

Educators can now upload images directly when creating content on the platform. The image upload is available for all block types using the editor.

Automarking with images 🌠

Students can now upload images when responding to a free response question and this will be used in the automarking workflow. This also includes changes to our editor – you'll see that all usages of the editor look the same and the "actions" are consistently displayed at the bottom (toggle toolbar, upload photo, record audio etc.).
